Discovering Sedona Arizona
Nestled amongst dramatic crimson towers of sandstone, Sedona, Arizona provides a stunning sanctuary for outdoor adventures and secluded retreats. It has been said that Sedona is one of the most unique and rarest places to visit in the world, and that amongst these amazing red rock formations there is a strong belief that Sedona is home to several vortexes, or specific focal points of the earth's energy.
Just 110 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona, Sedona has become a central resting stop for visitors of Northern Arizona who wish to explore the scenic Verde River, the 1.8 million-acre Coconino National Forest, or the winding roads through Oak Creek Canyon.
Situated at the base of Mogollon Rim, a geologically dominating structure of limestone, mudstone and sandstone, Sedona is engulfed by extraordinary monoliths resembling distinctive objects that bear their name, just to name a few there is Cathedral Rock, Coffee Pot, Bell and Snoopy. Coffee Pot Rock marks the tallest point in Sedona at 5600 feet, although the town itself is elevated at 4500 feet.
Sedona is also a mega hot spot for Hollywood filmmaker and moviestars especially in the 1920's with such films and stars as the movie"Call of the Canyon” and stars such as Gene Autry, Henry Fonda, Rock Hudson, Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Robert DeNiro Orson Welles, Lucille Ball, Jane Russell, and Walt Disney. But despite all hubbub Sedona continues to be a cosy-small town getaway.

Travel to Sedona is easy, and your first glimpse of the extraordinary Red Rocks will make your jaw will drop and you'll know why such a small town can make such a big impression.
One can discover by wandering through the quaint courtyards of a gorgeous Mexican Village named Tlaquepaque, an Indian name meaning "the best of everything." Amongst the cobblestone and fountains visitors enjoy boutiques, galleries and intimate restaurants. Sedona's downtown boasts authentic western wear, local cafes and specialty shops with stunning views of the red rocks from every angle, give a whole new meaning to the term "window shopping."
Tucked in amongst the red rocks of Sedona tourists who are seeking lodging will find all types from camp grounds to sensuous spas! You will find whatever you fancy as the perfect accommodation in Sedona.
With the Grand Canyon being is less than two hours away, and scenic Flagstaff, Arizona only about a thirty minute drive north, historic Prescott is just south and ninety minutes south in the Valley of the Sun one could get lost forever in the numerous activities offered from Cave Creek, Carefree, Scottsdale to Phoenix.
Whether you come to Sedona for adventure or for relaxation, you will leave this beautiful rocky fortress revitalized.
