On the Road with Roada
Lo Lo Mai Springs Outdoor Resort – Oak Creek Arizona
Tally ho! With the rainy season upon us on beautiful Vancouver Island, Madge and I have decided to take a winter holiday jaunt with the new caravan, destination Sedona , Arizona . With our new laptop computer in the caravan we searched RV Resorts in the area. Well let me tell what we discovered a beautiful rich 27 acre tree shaded oasis resort in the midst of northern Arizona high desert, nestled up to Oak Creek just eight miles from Sedona in the heart of the Historic Verde Valley.

Of course, you know my Madge, does it have a pool? Here is just a wee list of what you we were looking forward to: heated swimming pool and can you believe a hot spa, club house, and for activities; volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and something we have not done in a very long time creek swimming, Madge can bloody well barely contain herself. Don't forget to reserve to enjoy the goods spots, the telly is (928) 634-4700.
Well after a few days of travel we have arrived in Sedona…upon arriving in Sedona we had to stop the caravan, to catch our breaths…I don't believe we have every felt such peace and envisioned such beauty in one place….As we really wanted to explore the beauty of Sedona we decided to head straight to the Lo Lo Mai RV Resort. By the way,iIn all the bloody excitement of planning our trip, I did forget to mention when planning for this holiday we decided to consult the parts and service department at Arbutus RV, about towing the car. Upon receiving excellent advice from the service technician we purchased and had installed a special hitch for the motorhome to tow our MG convertible, what a treat!
Upon arriving at our RV site, once again both Madge and I are in awe at the beauty of the campsite, from the hiking trails, to the majestic oak creek, but we are going to hold off touring the RV resort as we really want to visit Sedona…so we set up the caravan and off we go to venture in Sedona.

Madge and I decided that today we would head out and visit the shops and galleries that we had viewed on the web. Our first stop was West Sedona , often called the real town by resident;
Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village ! It was quite the treat for Madge and I to wander through this 30-year collection of Spanish style buildings.
Our next jaunt was to uptown Sedona, and was another truly wonderful experience for us with all the interesting shops that we visited.
In West Sedona we found more traditional shops, where Madge and I purchased some goodies for our dinner that evening. Our next stop was the Village of Oak Creek , we were ecstatic…major outlet shopping, I can feel the bloody credit cards will take a beating here.
Well now that we are all shopped out we must say the Sedona shopping is more an expedition than an excursion, it is an exploration that leads to nooks and crannies that are fun to find with sights that are among the most beautiful in the world.
Well my darlings we are heading back to the RV Resort…so you will have to wait until the January/February issue of the Island RV Guide to find out more about our adventures in Sedona.
Until we meet again…
