"On The Road With Roada"

Pacific Playgrounds International RV Park, Camping, Marina

Tally-ho! After a bloody rainy month of May, Madge and I are back on the road with the new caravan and our destination is the spectacular Pacific Playground RV Park nestled between Courtenay and Campbell River on Saratoga at the north end of Vancouver Island .

What an utterly amazing destination! Pacific Playgrounds caters to all, with 210 RV/camping sites, and your choice of a river or wooded site. They also have 20 quaint cottages, both include and can you believe this a fire ring, picnic table, 15/30/50 amp power supply, water tap, sewer hook up, cable and this is unbelievable but they have internet access available at most sites, so that Madge and I can check for our post. And did I tell you about the spring rates for the week $153.00 Canadian. Of course Madge and I now dilly-dallied over where we were going to put the caravan, but in the end we settled by the river-side. After settling into our beautiful riverside site, a little toddy and some crisps to keep us going until dinner time, it was time to explore the area.

A short jaunt away we came upon an outdoor heated pool, Madge of course was all ready to give her a whirl! But I did not want to venture alone and promised she could frolic in the pool upon our return. Not only is this a picturesque destination they have a wide variety of activities on site such as, a tot's playground, volleyball net, basketball hoops, horseshoe pits, tennis courts and that was only the beginning! As we were strolling along we came upon some pleasant gents that were playing basketball and enquired if we could throw a few with them, oh what fun we had with these gents, reluctantly we continued our adventures, as we were a wee bit windless from the game. Well, to our delight our next discovery was a cook-out pavilion loaded with a BBQ and picnic tables. What a perfect place to bring the family for a get together. The next little leg of our adventure led us straight to the Marina ; oh my some of those ships were huge at least 40 feet long oh my! We strolled on the docks for a wee bit before returning to our caravan.

Upon returning to our caravan, Madge was feeling a wee bit sluggish and decided to take a cat nap. When she awoke we decided to try out the new range top in the caravan, and of course you cannot cook without a fine glass of sherry, we proceeded to try our hands at the new Roada Recipe which you will want to check out on Page 11 “Tequila Lime Chicken”,it was delightful. As our first day had been quite adventurous, we decided to settle in and watch some telly, and to our delight Coronation Street was playing. I believe that this is the end of our first exciting day of RV'ing pleasure here at Pacific Playgrounds Resort, both Madge and I give Pacific Playgrounds Roada's Royal Stamp of Approval

TaTa my darlings until we meet again!
